He opened with the serenity prayer and the GSR Preamble.<\/p>\n<p>II\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Minutes (Colleen D.) Colleen emailed the minutes from the last meeting and she received no corrections or additions.\u00a0 Motion to approve minutes by Paul.\u00a0 Motion approved.<\/p>\n<p>III \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Treasurer (Louis P.)<\/p>\n<p>Lou reported July\u2019s beginning balance in the checking account at $5913.89 plus contributions\/deposits of $612.08, less rent expense of $12.20, making July\u2019s ending balance of $6513.87. \u00a0July\u2019s beginning balance in the savings account is $854.49. $.01 interest was earned for a final balance of $854.50. \u00a0There was a motion to approve the Treasurer\u2019s report. Motion passed.<\/p>\n<p>IV\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DCM report (Marty B.) Marty reported that it has been a quiet month so he had nothing to report.<\/p>\n<p>V\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ADCM report (Ruthie B.)\u00a0 No report.<\/p>\n<p>VI\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Intros and Group reports around the room.\u00a0 Present were Marty B., Claudia B., Colleen D., Carol H., DaNella K., Ruthie B., Bob H., Paul H, Bobby F., Will E., Libby G., Karinda R., Kimberly W., Lou P., Peggy L., Bob V., Dusty R., Beverly A., Jake, John M., Craig C., Kevin L., Steve.<\/p>\n<p>VII\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Committee reports<\/p>\n<p>1.Picnic report \u2013 (DaNella-Co-Chair) We have booked Sky Jumpers for the Picnic Oct 8 12-4 pm. They will be providing the bouncy house, Bean Bag-Cornhole Game, Popcorn machine and Giant size Connect 4. In the notes from Last Year, it was mentioned that the popcorn was a waste, so this year we will have the volunteers hand it out. I spoke with Ruthie and confirmed the Lost and Found Club has volunteered to take charge of all the activities, including watching over the bouncy house, pinata and water balloons as well as all the other games\/activities. Bob V will be providing a microphone and speaker for our guest speaker at 2pm. Currently we have Craig and Bobby providing the grill and manning the BBQ. DaNella and Bob V have large ice chests. DaNella will be getting the pinata. Still need more ice chests and volunteers for day of, set up and break down.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Workshops \u2013 (Chuck T. &amp; Ruthie B.) Ruthie reported that Chuck had all the details. He was not at the meeting.<\/li>\n<li>Archives Liaison \u2013 (Diana M) &#8211; No report on Archives.<\/li>\n<li>H &amp; I (Kevin L.) Kevin reported that H &amp; I recently amended their guidelines.\u00a0 They are going to elect a new Board of Directors.\u00a0 Positions are available if anyone is interested.\u00a0 They are on track to purchase $40,000 worth of literature this year.\u00a0 This month they purchased $3320 worth of literature.\u00a0\u00a0 Their balance at the end of the month was $15,500 of which $1000 is their prudent reserve.\u00a0 They keep a large amount of money so it is available to purchase literature.\u00a0 Some rehabs are open now, also most of the jails.\u00a0 The prisons are supposed to be open by September.\u00a0 If you want to do a panel in the prisons, you must go through the process to be cleared even if you have done it before.<\/li>\n<li>Grapevine\/ La Vina (Janey and Diana)) &#8211; No report for Grapevine. Colleen read Diana\u2019s report on the La Vina Celebration:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>As the Liaison for the English-speaking community for the La Vina Anniversary Committee, here is a brief summary for this event which was celebrated July\u00a022, 23 &amp; 24th at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino.\u00a0The Pacific Region 26th Anniversary of La Vina was a HUGE success. We had a total of 1,078 registrations, 332 banquet attendees. Between the Registration fees &#8211; which included a year&#8217;s subscription of La Vina -, regular and gift subscriptions, we had an impact of 2,044 subscriptions\u00a0in total. Participation from 16 different Areas of the Pacific Region was noted. We had a host of English-speaking attendees and participation thanks to the interpretation that was provided. If anyone is interested in the financial\u00a0details, please let me know. The next La Vina Anniversary committee for their 27th year celebration will be organized in Oregon!!<\/p>\n<p>Our 26th La Vina committee will be providing a memoir (&#8220;memorias&#8221; in Spanish) as is the usual custom for our amazing AA Latinos. This informative as\u00a0well as historical document will be translated for the very first time into English and distributed.<\/p>\n<p>Con Un Coraz\u00f3n\u00a0Agradecido,<\/p>\n<p>Diana<\/p>\n<p>5. Hotline (Paul H.) \u2013 District One no longer has the commitment of the 1<sup>st<\/sup> <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">Sunday<\/span> Monday of the month. Possibly there will be another day available but Paul is waiting to hear about that.<\/p>\n<p>6. PI\/CPC \u2013 (Bob V) \u2013 There will be a CPC workshop September 10<sup>th<\/sup> at Central Office, 1515 E. Tropicana, #710 from 3-5 p.m. It is a hybrid meeting. Flyer attached.<\/p>\n<p>7. Intergroup \u2013 (Craig C.) See attached report.<\/p>\n<p>VIII\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tradition Summary<\/p>\n<p>DaNella. presented Tradition 8 and Kevin will present Tradition 9 next month.<\/p>\n<p>IX\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Concept Summary<\/p>\n<p>Ruthie presented Concept 8 and Claudia B will present Concept 9 next month.<\/p>\n<p>X\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Old Business &#8211; A few more suggestions were presented for a new meeting place for the district one business meeting.\u00a0 These will be followed up on. \u00a0Carol mentioned that at the last meeting we pretty much decided to keep it where it is.\u00a0 A final decision was tabled at this time.<\/p>\n<p>XI\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 New Business \u2013 Peggy L. asked about funding to travel to the Assembly.\u00a0 Her group did not want to pay the expenses.\u00a0 Claudia B explained the process to get funding assistance from the district and the area if the group can only pay part of the expenses or cannot pay any at all.<\/p>\n<p>Claudia B. asked about the large amount of funds in the treasury.\u00a0 Lou explained that the guidelines state that funds would be distributed after the picnic has been funded.<\/p>\n<p>Libby G suggested that since there is a large amount of funds in our treasury that we fund Alternate GSRs $100 to attend the assembly.\u00a0 A motion was made, seconded, and passed.<\/p>\n<p>Libby also reported to the GSRs that as of January 1, 2023, no money should be sent to SAGSC.\u00a0 The donations will go to the Area 42 Treasurer.\u00a0 She asked the GSRs to give this information to their group treasurers.\u00a0 A flyer explaining it with the new address will be coming.<\/p>\n<p>Lou stated that the Midtown Group would like to join our district.\u00a0 They meet at 10:30 on Saturday morning.\u00a0 It was decided that we did not need to vote on this and they are welcome to join our district.<\/p>\n<p>Libby presented Jake\u2019s report about a General Service Workshop to be held September 11,\u00a05-7 pm via zoom.\u00a0 Flyer is attached.<\/p>\n<p>Meeting closed at 11:10. a.m. with the Responsibility Statement.<\/p>\n<p>The next meeting will be held during the Area Assembly in Tonopah on September 24, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><\/h1>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The meeting was held on Zoom.\u00a0 It was chaired by Marty B.
