III. New Business:

Picnic Chair – John – Saturday, October 5th is confirmed.  Stay tuned!

Workshop Chair – Cherie  

  • On behalf of District 1, Cherie has been meeting with all kinds of folks, and partnered with District 9 to present the Spring 2013 Workshop entitled “Keeping it Green”.
  • District 1 will donate up to $50.00 towards refreshments/handouts.
  • Details:  Saturday, March 16th           2pm – 4pm            Camel Club   2301 E Sunset Rd. #2 Henderson 89119
  • Focused on Steps 1, 2, 3, four inspirational speakers will share their experience, strength and hope.
  • Request District 1 GSR’s to arrive 30 minutes early to the Camel Club to assist in set-up, and/or remain 30 minutes after for clean-up.
  • ***Flyer will be emailed to the GSR’s this week, please talk this up.  District 9 is very excited to partner with us!  Way to go Cherie!

PICPC – Cherie

  • In transition as the new co-chairs are coming on-board.
  • Planning Palo Verde High School 5/3/13; please contact Cherie for details.
  • Cherie is locating literature racks to place in libraries in town.

H&I – Tony (Liaison)

  • In transition as the new co-chairs are coming on-board.
  • Prisons:  Urgent need – Florence McClure Women’s Correctional Center
    • Meetings 1:30pm – 2:30pm Saturdays and Sundays each weekend.
    • 4370 Smiley Rd (89115), Lamb and Craig, N Las Vegas (towards Nellis)
    • Application:
    • Requires background check, TB test (your cost), orientation class.

Hotline:  Ted, Recruiter and Trainer

  • Need for Captains; Wednesday shift, 4pm and 8pm.
    • Recommends 3 years sobriety and completion of Steps.
    • For info – attend the Intergroup meeting, contact Ted and/or Central office.

Tonopah  April 5 – 7th, 2013 Update:

  • Many hotels are booked due to construction business. If you’d like to share a room and/or carpool, please email Lynn who will assist coordinating.
  • Up to a $200 donation is available to home groups without funds; please email Jake.

February 17th, 2013 – Secretary’s Workshop (meeting chairs) 3pm at the 51 Club (46 Magnesium St).  Food served!

February 24th, 2013  –  Two (2) Events

1)  Service Festival 10am at the T.I.E. Club (329 North 11th Street)

2) SAGSC Roundtables 1pm @ Serenity Club (3990 Schiff Dr)

  • GSR’s, with your home group, choose top 7 – 8 most important items.

  • Jake plans on attending and is reviewing costs of driving vs. airfare.

  • District 1 will pay the $5 entry fee per cook!  Let’s get that trophy.
  • *GSR TO DO*:  Bring names of contestants to the next District 1 meeting, 3/10 at 10:15am, Lost and Found, Boulder City.
